KentMUN is a Model United Nations Society based in the University of Kent, Canterbury, UK.

Who we are

The Kent Model United Nations Society is the MUN Society of the University of Kent in Canterbury. We are a group of students dedicated to championing the United Nations, its values and principles, and promoting the crucial actions that this unique organization operates to save lives, encourage peace and protect the environment.

Throughout the year, the KentMUN Society provides comprehensive MUN training to members. We teach students how to research about their country, how to write a position paper in which they will expose their positions, how to use the rules of debate to their advantage and lead negotiations

Not only do we host our own conference every year, but we will also take part in some of the world class MUN conferences happening here in the UK and abroad!

KentMUN Conference
2022 -Autumn Edition

25th, 26th and 27th of November

Each year, we host our own conference, KentMUN Conference, on the University campus in Canterbury. This year, it will be held from Friday 25th to Sunday 27th November, and is accessible to Kent students at a discounted price. It promises to be an event like no other, so don’t miss the application deadline!

UNEA

The UNEA (United Nations environment assembly) is is the world’s highest-level decision-making body on the environment. In this KentMUN Autumn Edition 2022, delegates will be given the opportunity to discuss on the contemporary urgencies our world faces around biodiversity and our oceans.

UNHCR

The UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) is a global organization dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for refugees, forcibly displaced communities and stateless people. In this KentMUN Autumn Edition 2022, delegates will be given the opportunity to discuss on the contemporary urgencies our world faces such as the vulnerabilities of refugees.

European Council

The European Council is the EU institution that defines the general political direction and priorities of the European Union. It is composed of the heads of state or government of the EU member states, the President of the European Council, and the President of the European Commission. In this KentMUN Autumn Edition 2022, delegates will be given the opportunity to discuss on the contemporary urgencies the world and precisely the European Union faces and how those urgencies will affect its construction.

Crisis Committee

The crisis committee this year will revolve around the universe created by Suzanne Collins in the Hunger Games saga. This committee will focus on several illustrious episodes of the series, while enlightening the political and crisis management aspects of it. May the odds be ever in your favor!
